Couple accused of tying down toddler want case moved

Lawrenceburg, KY (WKYT) Two parents accused of tying up their toddler want their case moved out of Anderson County. Rebecca and Herbert Medley filed a motion Tuesday morning in Anderson Circuit Court for a change of venue.

Police charged the two with criminal abuse, along with the child's grandmother Carolyn Case. Court documents say the mother and grandmother admitted to using a curtain sash to tie the 3-year-old down for up to 16 hours a day from June to August of 2012. Police charged Herbert Medley because they say he knew about the abuse but didn't report it.

According to court documents Rebecca Medley and Carolyn Case told police they tied the girl down because she was getting out of her bed in the middle of the night and trying to leave the house.

The three have all pleaded not guilty to criminal abuse. A hearing on the Medleys request for a change of venue will be held in Anderson Circuit Court on April 12.
