Covington officer injured in shooting

COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A police officer in northern Kentucky has been injured in a shooting and a manhunt is under way for the suspect.

The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/VTZmkK) reports the officer's name wasn't released, but he was taken to an area hospital where he is expected to recover.

Details surrounding the shooting, which dispatchers say was reported at about 5:30 a.m. Friday, weren't immediately released.

The newspaper reports several police agencies are involved in the search for the suspect.
