BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Five people ended up in the hospital after a violent crash in Bourbon County.

The accident happened around 8:30 Friday morning on Russell Cave Road, not far from the Harrison County line.

Police say a woman driving a blue pick-up truck on Hawkins-Cummins Road tried to stop, but skidded on the rain-slick road into the intersection at Russell Cave. Her truck hit a van, carrying four men.

Both the woman and all four men in the van were taken to UK Hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time.

Russell Cave was closed for a few hours because the van took out a power line.

Family members of two of the men involved in the crash told WKYT that all four men worked at Kevin's Carpets in Lexington.
