Heavy rain will be the issue through the first half of the day. Significant snow & sleet will be the call during the afternoon through tomorrow. Look for almost impassable travel in some spots tomorrow.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Tuesday night, a well-known scientist will take on the founder of the Creation Museum in a friendly debate over evolution.
'Is creation a viable model of origins in today's modern, scientific era?'
It's a lofty question that will be debated when Bill Nye is pitted against the museum’s founder, Ken Ham, a vocal critic of evolution.
Nye is against teaching creationism to children.
"If you teach them creationism as if it's an alternative to geology, to plate tectonics, to astrophysics, to evolution, that's when it's a disservice," said Bill Nye.
Various YouTube clips show Ham addressing Nye's defenders.
"The reaction of the secularist, to me, confirms over and over again that the Bible is true,” said Ham. “It confirms Romans 1 that they know in their hearts that they suppress the truth in unrighteousness."
The timing of the debate coincides with a Gallup survey that found Kentucky to be the tenth most religious state in the country.
Mississippi is number one.
900 tickets for the event sold out in just a few minutes.
