Crews investigating suspicious Lexington apartment fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Investigators say a fire that briefly forced people from their homes is suspicious.

Firefighters were called around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning to an apartment complex on Lakeshore Drive. They quickly put out the fire, but several people had already evacuated the building by the time crews arrived.

Neighbors told officials they saw flames shooting out of the wall from one of the units.

Officials say the fire is suspicious because of where the fire started, and because no one was living in the unit.
