Crews quickly put out overnight fire at Lexington home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An overnight fire in Lexington has put one man out of his home.

It happened just before midnight Friday night on Anniston Drive. Lexington fire officials say there were flames showing from the front of the home when they arrived on scene. They say it appears that the fire started in the front room and most of the damage was contained to that room.

Fire officials say one man was home at the time of the fire but that he was able to get out safely. They say a good Samaritan was walking by when he noticed the fire at the house and went up to the door to knock and try to warn the residents. That man was treated for smoke inhalation on the scene. No other injuries are reported.

According to fire officials the damage to the front room was enough to leave the occupant without a home until repairs can be made.

The fire is still under investigation, according to fire officials, but they do not believe it was suspicious.
