NEW CONCORD, Ky. - (WKYT) - Good news for one southwestern Kentucky family after two missing children were found safe and sound after spending the night alone in the woods.
The Calloway County Sheriff's Office says seven-year old Ben Davis and five-year-old Cameron Davis were found around 9:30 Friday morning about a mile from their home in New Concord.
The two young brothers were reported missing for about 17 hours before a neighbor finally found them.
The neighbor saw the boys walking down Blood River Road, more than one mile from their grandmother's home, which is the last place they were seen.
Officials say the boys told them they got lost, spent the night under a rock and had to cover themselves with leaves to stay warm.
The boys were not dressed in warm clothes and were both wet and cold after spending the night outside but they were otherwise unharmed.
Calloway County officials say after the boys were found the only things they asked for were sandwiches and a hot bath.
