Crews search river for missing Lexington man

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Two fire departments searched the Kentucky River near the Madison/Fayette County line for missing Lexington man, Alex Johnson.

Police say their investigation into his disappearance has them going down a checklist of possibilities and this was just one of them.

Johnson hasn't been seen since December 20th after he answered a knock at his apartment door on Hanover Avenue.

Johnson works at UK. His family says it's unlike him not to be in contact with someone for this long, and police call the disappearance suspicious.

They say his cell phone or bank accounts have not been used in the last week.

Johnson's friends and family have recently turned to Facebook to help in the search for him. The "Find Alex Johnson" Facebook page now has more than 8,000 likes.
