LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)-Police are hoping you know who's behind the wheel of a car caught on surveillance tape seconds before and after a truck was broken into.

It's the only clue they have following a major theft on Big Run Road back on March 15th.

"Someone broke into the snap on of a truck in those overnight hours," explained Robert Sarrantonio of the Lexington Police Department. "They stole several thousand dollars in tools."

Police say their biggest concern was 'what' was stolen. They say in addition to tools, the thief made off with more than 17-thousand dollars in ammunition and AR 15 rifle equipment tucked inside.

"Detectives don't have many leads on this. If you hear of someone come into a lot of AR 15 rounds and magazines, of course that's a possible suspect lead we'd like to hear about."

Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. Call 859-253-2020. It's a free call and it is anonymous.
