Our focus now turns to the potential of record lows this morning. Many areas will finish with thermometers below zero.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)-One Lexington neighborhood has been hit four times in the last year by vandals. In the Crimestoppers Crime of the Week, officers are looking for help finding the person or people responsible.
"There's painted grafitti around all four sides," Detective Mike Sweeney commented as he showed WKYT crew members pictures of one of the homes most recently hit.
Black spray paint in various curly designs swirled across two garage doors, windows, the front door and even the bricks on all sides of the cape-cod style home.
Sweeney has been investigating four cases of criminal mischief in the Shadeland neighborhood, which backs up to the UK Arboretum. Last May, three homes on Tateswood Drive were painted with grafitti. A fourth home was hit on January Second of this year. Sweeney says in each case, the homes were hit on a Wedesday night or early Thursday morning. In three cases, homeowners were faced with more than $10,000 in damages.
"One of the victims last may heard noises around one in the morning and a dog barking. Short of that, nobody has seen or heard anything," Sweeney said.
In one case, Sweeney says the initials "EBG" and the word "snitch" could be read. Police aren't sure if there's a vendetta or if this is a prank.
"There's no connection between neighbors except they all live and back up to the arboretum. None of the victims have any clue who would have done this."
