Customer's violent attack at Lexington bar caught on tape

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The owners of Soundbar on South Limestone say a man captured on surveillance video attacked two employees before shattering the front door.

One of the owners, Isaac Kurs, says the customer was asked to leave after he threw a drink at one of the bartenders. That bartender says he served the man one beer. After that he appeared too drunk and the bartender refused to serve him.

“Our manager happened to be here, off duty, but he was right next to him and he grabbed him and took him outside," says Isaac Kurs, Soundbar co-owner. "The bartender, Kevin, came from around the bar and helped him take him outside.”

It's obvious the man was not willing to leave peacefully. Surveillance video outside the bar shows the man as he repeatedly tries to kick two staff members and even punches and kicks at the bar's front door. He eventually breaks through some of the glass and tries to go back inside.

“The reason they kind of closed the door real quick, he was throwing one of those posts those crowd control posts at them," Kurs explains. "He threw it again later in the video and smashed through the window.”

Kurs and his employees are now offering a reward to anyone who can help identify the man who Kurs says not only destroyed property, but also put the bar's customers and staff in a dangerous situation.

“As a local business owner, I want to make sure that people here feel comfortable patronizing and going to every business in town," says Kurs. "I don't want Lexington to become a place where you're scared to go out.”

Employees believe it's only a matter of time before the man is identified. He not only left behind video evidence, but also a shoe.

The bar is offering $500 cash to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in the video. Employees believe his last name may be 'Duncan.'
