MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Wednesday was the seventh day of testimony in the Christina Marcum murder trial.
Police say Marcum was involved in the murder of Angela Singleton, her ex-boyfriend’s wife, in 2011.
After days of testimony, prosecutors rested their case Wednesday. The defense called its first witness at 1:30 p.m.
Less than an hour later, the defense was finished.
In that span, the defense witness, Betty Nichols, told the jury she was intimidated into lying in an effort to implicate Christina Marcum.
Closing arguments are expected in the trial Thursday morning. The jury could get the case by Thursday afternoon.
Angela Singleton’s husband, Jason Singleton, plead guilty to complicity to murder in the case. He’s currently serving a 30 year sentence.
