DUI crash closes downtown Lexington road

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Part of a Lexington road stayed closed hours after a crash that landed the driver in jail. The crash happened around midnight Wednesday.

Police tell WKYT that 34-year-old Camilla Roberson lost control of her car on Maxwell Street, near High Street. Police say the car hit a power pole and then flipped onto its roof.

Witnesses helped Roberson out of the car, and she was not hurt. Police did charge her with driving under the influence.

Maxwell Street remained closed as crews from Kentucky Utilities worked to replace the damaged utility pole. The road opened back up to traffic around 6:35 Wednesday morning.
