Heavy snow is taking its time moving through the state of Kentucky. This will be a historic once its all said and done with a few spots around a foot of snow.
It was a terrific Tuesday across Kentucky. The only issue might have been the late streaming clouds that rolled into the area. Other than that it was picture perfect. The rest of the week will not have a similar fate.
The first part of a system, that we'll see again this weekend, will sweep across Kentucky and increase the moisture levels in the air. This part of the system is a warm front. As it lifts north of Kentucky humidity levels will creep back up to a bit. This extra moisture hanging out will keep the shower and storm threat alive.
The second part of the system will be a trailing cold front that starts pressing in on Friday and completely moves through Kentucky on Saturday. We'll track showers and storms through the first part of your weekend because of the front.
Fall will arrive with some dry conditions though. So the second half of the weekend will be great!
