Danville mayor asking public to come forward with information in triple murder

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The man who gunned down three people inside a Boyle County pawn shop last week is still on the loose.

Michael and Angela Hockensmith, the co-owners of ABC Gold, Games & More in Danville were murdered along with customer, Daniel Smith.

The ATF is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible.

Community leaders are now asking people in Danville to come forward with information. "I just encourage people to have faith in their government and the police force, I do believe that our police force will solve this case.," said Danville Mayor Bernie Hunstad.

The Hockensmiths were active members of Mitchellsburg Baptist Church. Hundreds attended a community vigil Sunday night to show their support for the three victims' families.

This triple murder has shocked people throughout the town. Despite what happened, leaders in Danville still say this city is a safe one, filled with good people. "There is no community that's immune from this kind of violence, I will point out that the individual that did this is likely not from Danville, " said Hunstad.

Police have not released any new information since the day of murders. The only description of the man they're looking for is a heavy-set white man in his 40s, possibly 50s, last seen wearing a camo jacket.
