Daughter tries to shoot her father

OWEN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT)- Tonight, a woman faces charges after police say she tried to shoot her father who's also a county sheriff!

State Police arrested 35 year old Heather Hammond this afternoon.

Investigators say Hammond pointed a loaded gun at her father, Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond.

But they say when she tried to shoot, the gun jammed and wouldn't fire.

Heather Hammond has been charged with attempted murder, and wanton endangerment.
