Daycare worker charged with injuring toddler

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - A Central Kentucky daycare worker is facing charges after police say she abused a toddler in her so badly that she broke her clavicle.

A police report filed against Amanda Wright states that while working at the Georgetown Child Development Center on Clinton Street earlier this month, she pulled a chair out from under a two-year-old in her care, causing her to fall to the ground.

The report states that Wright then ignored any indications that the child was in pain and instructed her to complete her lunch and take care of her plate.

Wright then failed to complete an accident report, which is a requirement of the daycare facility.

Police say Wright then told another employee to lie to the child's mother about the incident.

Wright was arrested and is charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Abuse of a Child 12 or Under.

When the mother arrived to pick up her daughter, she noticed the injury and took the girl to the emergency room.

The report states that the toddler was diagnosed with a fractured clavicle from the incident.
