One dead in head-on crash in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - One person is dead and two others are seriously hurt after a head-on crash in Madison County.

It happened Thursday afternoon on KY 21 just outside of Berea near the Indian Fort Theater.

We know that an Ford F150 was heading east when it crossed over the center line and hit a Chevy S-10 head on.

A male and female were in the Chevy truck when it was hit. The male victim, who was driving, was taken to the Berea hospital where he passed away and the female victim was air lifted to the UK Hospital. At last report, she is in serious to critical condition.

The coroner has identified the man as 67 year-old Barley Rose of Jackson County.

The driver of the F150 has also been taken to the UK hospital. They are in serious condition, but are responsive.

Police say the driver of the F150 was distracted and reaching for something when they crossed over the center line and hit the other truck.
