ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are investigating a deadly crash. The crash happened just after six Thursday morning on U.S.150, near Highway 70.

The Rockcastle County coroner tells WKYT that the crash involves four cars and that one person has died. The victim has been identified as 50 year old Timothy Taylor from Mount Vernon.

According to one of the drivers involved in the accident, a deer jumped in front of his car as he approached the intersection of Highway 1229 and Highway 150. He told police that when he swerved to miss the deer, he hit a vehicle driven by Taylor.

Taylor's vehicle was pushed into oncoming traffic, where two other cars hit it.

The Rockcastle County coroner says Taylor was thrown from his vehicle and died at the scene.

As for two of the other drivers, they were airlifted to UK Hospital. Investigators say Taylor and one of the injured drivers were not wearing seat belts.

All northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 150 were shut down for hours, between Ky. 1229 and Highway 70.
