The death toll from weekend storms that left more than 3 million without power at its peak has risen to 22.
Officials in Virginia say three more deaths are being blamed on the storms. In Maryland, officials said they recovered the body of a man who had gone missing while boating early Saturday.
Temperatures were approaching or above 100 degrees in some areas over the weekend, and many places have been bracing for another hot day Monday.
The heat left the elderly and sick especially vulnerable without air conditioning.
