Deputies: Man exposed himself to woman & child at Laurel Lake

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - Deputies in Laurel County tell us a man is behind bars, after they say he exposed himself to a female and one of her four children at Laurel Lake, near the Spillway.

They say it happened Tuesday night, around 7 o'clock on Laurel Lake Road, 17 miles west of London.

When the deputy arrived, we're told R.B. Mitchell, 58, of Manchester, had pulled up in a car in the Spillway dam parking lot, and had grabbed her inappropriately, and had made several sexually-offensive remarks. Deputies also say Mitchell had exposed his genitals to her. They say all this occurred in front of one of her four children.

Deputies say the woman informed Mitchell she had a gun, and to go away. We're told that's when he drove to the other side of the parking lot.

Deputies say the man admitted to them he grabbed the woman, and was "trying to pick her up for a good time".

Mitchell was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center, charged with sexual abuse, 3rd degree, and indecent exposure, 2nd degree.
