Dog found shot in the head looking for home

Updated: Thu 12:25 AM, Jul 26, 2012

Just weeks ago, the boxer mix was found shot in the head in Rockcastle County. While investigators continue their investigation, the dog has made quite a recovery.

The three-year-old, recued by Kentucky SAVE, is in foster care in Lexington now. His foster family says he loves other dogs, cats and children.

"He has no bad traits; he's not afraid of people," explained Kentucky SAVE volunteer Anita Spreitzer. "If somebody did something like that to me, I'd probably hide from the world. And he's not worried about any of that."

Kentucky SAVE will have other adoptable pets at the PetSmart in Richmond Saturday. Lincoln will be part of the "Dog Days of Summer" celebration at Half Price Books in Hamburg Sunday.
