LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)- In two months, Lexington Police investigators say they've had 20 homes where someone has stolen laptops, small electronics and wallets. All were in the UK campus area.
"That night, we're here by ourselves; scared to death," UK Sophomore Allison Bass said.
It's not hard for UK Bass to remember how frightened she and her four roommates felt just days ago after someone came into their home stealing their laptops, small electronics and even a wallet. She says someone got in through an unlocked window at their home near UK's campus.
"My laptop has school work, notes and pictures on it; those things are priceless to me," Bass said.
Lexington Police say in the last two months, there have been dozens of theft cases in the Waller, Maxwell and Euclid area, including dozens of victims living in 20 different homes. Now these girls wants others living nearby to be more careful.
"You don't want to be there the next day thinking I wish I would have locked the window or the door. My advice is to be very, very careful."
