Dozens targeted in drug roundup

Several law enforcement agencies joined forces to make arrests of individuals wanted on drug-related charges during a roundup conducted in Jackson County on Friday.

Participating in the arrests were members of Operation UNITE, the Two Rivers Drug Task Force, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police.

Operation UNITE began investigating reports of suspected illegal drug trafficking in December 2011. Indictment warrants for 19 people were returned by a Jackson County Grand Jury this week.

Most of the UNITE cases involved the sale of three drugs, Oxycodone, Suboxone and Hydrocodone. In addition to the UNITE cases, 13 people were sought on warrants obtained from investigations by other agencies.

As of 2 pm Friday, 20 of the 32 people wanted by law enforcement had been arrested. They are:

• James Douglas Adams, 34, Ledger Fork Road, Tyner, one count each first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Amy Leaf Carmicle, 27, Elisha Branch Road, McKee, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Dewayne Cavins, 58, Annville, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Christine Marshall Doan, 48, Letterbox, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and two counts second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Steve Douglas, 38, McKee, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Mike Dunn, 35, Annville, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Debra A. Fowler, 27, McKee, three counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and three counts trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

• Clarence Edward Horn, Sr., 67, Sand Gap, two counts second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Zachary Hoskins, 25, Tyner, cultivating marijuana more than 5 plants.

• Mickey Joe Hubbard, 44, Ingram Road, Tyner, three counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and one count third-degree terroristic threatening.

• Billy Jack Leaf, 27, Elisha Branch Road, MCKee, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Miranda Elaine Lynch, 27, of McKee, three counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and three counts trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

• Lana Mays, 22, Ingram Road, Tyner, one count each of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

• William “Butch” Parrott, 46, Jusdale Lane, McKee, one count each first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and persistent felony offender.

• Wade Peters, 40, McKee, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Angela Randolph, 37, Annville, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Bridget Sarfo (also known as Bridget Huff), 48, Gray Hawk, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth).

• Jennifer Venable, 21, McKee, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

• Trenton Mathias Venable, 22, McKee, three counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and two counts second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. Venable was also arrested on a separate warrant for second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

• Sidney Jason Venable, 34, Sand Gap, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and persistent felony offender.

Officers were continuing their efforts to locate the other individuals.
