Driver arrested after crash knocked out utility poles

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A driver is in jail after a crash that knocked out a couple of power poles.

It happened early Friday morning on Liberty Road, near Gerardi Road.

Lexington police say when they arrived a scene, the driver was nowhere to be found. But police called in a K-9 and were able to track the driver down in a nearby neighborhood.

Police charged Rodriquez Smith, 30, with DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident.

Crews were on scene for a short time to repair the telephone and electrical pole damaged in the crash.
