Driver arrested after crashing stolen car

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A man leads police on a chase in a stolen car before he crashed in downtown Lexington.

The crash happened at Short Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Lexington police say they were called to assist University of Kentucky police on a pursuit of a stolen car.

Police say the driver crashed into a brick wall, jumped out of the car and led police on a foot chase. The driver was arrested a short time later behind the Fayette County courthouse.

Officials say the driver was taken to UK Hospital with minor injuries. His name and charges have not yet been released.
