LANCASTER, KY. (WKYT) - A Sunday morning crash left a man dead and closed a road for hours.
The 911 call came in sometime after 9:30 a.m. leading police to Buckeye Road.
Kentucky State Police say the driver of the car lost control while driving east near Poor Ridge Pike.
They say the car went off the road and hit a utility pole, snapping it, then flipped as it went about 50 feet down an embankment.
Rescue workers say there was only one person in that car.
Firefighters say the road was closed for hours because of the difficulty in getting the car back up to the road. Two different tow trucks were involved.
Garrard County Coroner says the the driver had a history of health issues and because there were no witnesses to the wreck his body will be sent to Frankfort for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
