PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police are investigating a deadly crash in the Ferrells Creek community of Pike County. It happened on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say 55-year old Lawrence Fleenor of Prestonsburg, was driving on US 460 when the 2010 Jeep Wrangler he was operating struck a large boulder in the roadway. The boulder was in the roadway as a result of a rock slide that happened just prior to the crash.

Mr. Fleenor was transported to Pikeville Medical Center where he died.

The accident is still under investigation.
