Dunbar cheerleaders claim another national title

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington is the home to another National Championship team and this one hails from Paul Laurence Dunbar high school. Today at the Universal Cheerleaders Association National Championships at the Disney Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida, Dunbar won the Large Varsity Division and then went on to capture the World Championship in the Large Varsity Division later Sunday night.

It’s Dunbar’s 8th National Championship and the schools JV squad finished 3rd in the country.

Literally hundreds of cheerleaders from Kentucky competed in the event—among the other winners; Henry Clay in the Coed JV Division, North Laurel in the Medium Varsity Division, Bullitt East in the Small Coed Division and Graves County in the Large Coed Division.
