EKU among universities planing to help students affected by MCU closure

RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - Last week, Mid-Continent University announced plans to close its operations. Financial problems are forcing Mid-Continent to close this year.

Since then, a few public and private institutions across Kentucky are stepping up to assist those students interested transferring. Eastern Kentucky University and Midway College are among those universities.

Information on the Student Outreach and Transition Office is available at www.soto.eku.edu.

Midway College is waiving admission application fees and offering other resources for students who want to transfer from MCU.

More information is at www.midway.edu.

Western Kentucky University announced last week they are also waiving admission application fees and offering other resources for students who want to transfer from Mid-Continent University.

Financial problems are forcing Mid-Continent to close this year.

WKU spokesperson says in addition to waiving the admission application fee, they are looking at how to best serve the Mid-Continent students and help as many of them as possible.
