Showers and storms continue to push into eastern Kentucky. A few strong storms will continue to be possible, but widespread severe weather is not expected.
SCIENCE HILL, Ky. (WKYT) - Storms rolled through Kentucky early Friday morning. The weather created a few problems in the Science Hill area of Pulaski County. Lightning is believed to be the cause for several small fires, including one at an abandoned house. No one was living at a home on Kentucky 1247, but the fire kept firefighters busy for several hours. The fire was reported about 6:00 a.m. Friday and firefighters cleared the scene just after 10 a.m. Lightning also hit a few transformers in this area. South Kentucky RECC said none of their customers experienced outages, but that KU had a few dozen customers say their power was impacted. There were no reports of any injuries in the weather.
