(Lexington, Ky) - UK Seismologist have inserted a new device underground to monitor earthquakes in eastern Kentucky.

This $20,000 project was in the works for many months, but the 4.3 magnitude earthquake that happened on November 10th in Letcher County got the device in the ground a little quicker. On that day, buildings in Perry and Letcher County cracked.

The Seismic Station is located on the grounds of the Perry County Public Library. So far, the only rumblings detected have been area mine blasting.
