Eastern Kentucky pain clinic raided again

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police have again raided an eastern Kentucky pain clinic.

Johnson County Sheriff Dwayne Price said at least 17 people were arrested outside the Care More Pain Management clinic Wednesday, one on a drug-related DUI charge and most of the others on outstanding warrants, The Courier-Journal reported.

Clinic co-owner Aaron Cantrell was outside the clinic during the raid but declined comment.

A former doctor at the clinic, Richard Albert, was arrested Feb. 16, the last time the clinic was raided. He pleaded guilty in December to a federal charge of conspiring to illegally prescribe approximately 50,000 tablets of the painkiller Percocet.

Spokeswoman Shelley Catharine Johnson of the state attorney general's office says state, federal and local investigators executed a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation of the clinic.
