FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Board of Education is scheduled to receive updates on two struggling school districts.
Board members meeting Wednesday in Frankfort will be briefed on progress being made in the Breathitt County School District, which has been under state management since late last year.
They will also be updated on the Monticello Independent School District, which is under state assistance. The state is considering taking the next step and also taking over management of that district and a special hearing is set for Feb. 20.
