Elderly woman injured when suspected robber pushes her to the ground

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - An elderly woman is recovering after police say she was injured during a violent shoplifting at a grocery store.

It happened at the Kroger in Middlesboro.

Police say the suspect, 35-year-old Patrick Sullivan, tried to steal lithium batteries from the store.

As he ran outside, police say he pushed the woman to the ground.

We're told she was sent to the hospital with minor injuries to her arm and hip.

Police arrested Sullivan nearby. He's charged with robbery.
