FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is hosting a training course to teach emergency responders how to stay safe and protect the public while working a crash or other highway emergencies.
The federally supported course is set for Feb. 27-28 at the Transportation Cabinet building in Frankfort.
Jeff Bibb, director of the cabinet's Division of Incident Management, says the goal is for a safer, faster and more integrated responder team. He says the training is meant to create a cohesive response among law enforcement, firefighters, state and local highway workers, medical personnel and others.
The course is aimed at developing qualified trainers in each state or region, using a common set of practices and standards. Participants will have access to best practices used across the country to improve responses and motor safety.
