Police in Lexington are searching for an escapee from Grayson County.

22-year old Joshua McDowell was in the Grayson County Jail for burglary. Police say he escaped early Friday morning.

According to police, McDowell approached a man at the Sonic in Leitchfield and claimed his car broke down. At that point, police say he kidnapped the man and forced him to drive to Lexington. The victim told Lexington Police that McDowell got out in the downtown area. The victim then drove to the Versailles Road McDonald's to get help.

Lexington Police believe that McDowell has family here. Police say he will be charged with unlawful imprisonment.
