Ex-soldier convicted of possessing child porn

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway says a former Fort Campbell soldier has been convicted of possessing child porn.

Conway said a Christian County jury convicted 27-year-old Michael Myers of Oak Grove on Tuesday on 12 counts and recommended a one-year sentence in addition to a requirement that he register as a sex offender for 20 years.

Conway said Myers' indictment in 2010 stemmed from an undercover investigation that was undertaken by his cybercrimes unit in September of 2009.

A judge will sentence Myers on Dec. 5.
