Excavation of possible burial site begins in Hardin county

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Police began excavating a possible burial site Friday morning in Hardin county.

Officers first investigated the area after receiving a tip from a man who claimed he killed two people and buried them at the site.

Larry Sherrad, 60, sent the letter to police just before his death. Sherrad served time in prison on drug charges.

Police say the letter did not name the victims and they're not aware of any outstanding missing persons cases in the area.
