FAA: 2 Ky. towers to close

Posted: Fri 5:43 PM, Mar 22, 2013

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration says air traffic control facilities at two small western Kentucky airports will close next month due to budget cuts.

The two airports from Kentucky on a list released Friday are Owensboro-Daviess County in Owensboro and Barkley Regional in Paducah.

The FAA released a list of 149 control facilities that will close due to budget constraints. The FAA is being forced to trim $637 million for the rest of the fiscal year that ends Sept. 30.
