FEMA is opening two disaster recovery centers in eastern Kentucky.

The centers will help storm victims with property damage and other setback from the recent tornadoes.

There will be one center in Johnson County and Menifee County. Each center will be open beginning Sunday, March 11 at 9 a.m. Hours for the centers are 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., seven days a week. The centers will be closed Sundays after March 18.

In Johnson County:

Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Small Business Administration, Kentucky State Unemployment Services and other agencies will be at the center to explain disaster assistance programs and help survivors apply for aid.

Survivors are encouraged to register for federal assistance prior to visiting. There are three ways to register with FEMA for help or information regarding disaster assistance:

1. Call 800-621-FEMA (3362). Help is available in many languages. Disaster applicants who use TTY should call 800-462-7585. Those who use 711 or Video Relay Service should call 800-621-3362. Lines are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time, every day.
2. Register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov .
3. Register using a tablet or smartphone by visiting m.fema.gov .
