While most areas stay dry and warm Saturday, there is a slight chance for a pop-up shower/storm (especially over Southeastern and Eastern Kentucky) in the afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. After another clear night, expect another very warm day Sunday with a few clouds streaming in late. There is a chance for an isolated shower late but a better bet for scattered showers and storms will be on Monday as a cold front crosses through the Commonwealth. The latest track of Tropical Storm Isaac continues to shift farther westward into the Gulf. After clipping Hispaniola and Eastern/Central Cuba through Saturday, Isaac is expected to head through the Florida Keys into the Gulf of Mexico from late Sunday into Tuesday with possible landfall somewhere near the Florida Panhandle late Tuesday/early Wednesday (this, of course, is subject to change). Extended computer models continue to vary a bit after landfall with the European taking Isaac toward Western Kentucky by next Friday where the GFS has the remnants of Isaac turning sharply to the northeast and missing the Ohio Valley. Either way, Isaac may have direct or indirect impacts on the Commonwealth by late next week.
Have a wonderful weekend.
