LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Police officers and others gathered to remember officers who lost their lives in the line of duty last year.
Bluegrass Lodge Number Four of the fraternal order of police held its annual police memorial ceremony tonight at Phoenix Park in downtown Lexington.
Officers laid a wreath and read the names of all 120 officers across the country who died in the line of duty last year.
That included three from Kentucky.
"This is for us, the officers. We enjoy the public coming out and supporting us. But this is more for the officers, for the people who do this everyday, to give them time to reflect on their fellow officers that lost their lives in the last year," Said Mike Sweeney, FOP President.
This ceremony is one of many being held across kentucky and the US for police memorial week.
