Lexington, Ky (WKYT) - The family of Aaron Collins just keeps giving, they even took their message to the CBS Morning Show over the weekend.

"Knowing a lot of people would be reached for Aaron's message and what he's started; that's the best part," explained Seth Collins, Aaron's older brother.

Seth Collins says the family has now raised $56,000 for their cause.

"I didn't think it could be this big," Collins said. "Right now, in total, we have enough to give 112 of these donations, tips. The amount of people it reaches beyond that, you can't measure."

Collins posted two more videos of his family giving $500 tips to servers at restaurants across the state, in Aaron's honor. They were at Lexington's Charlie Brown's in Chevy Chase and the Cheddar's in Florence.

The Cheddar's waitress told the family she'd just been in a car accident, causing her to miss work, and needed the money to pay her rent. The waitress at Charlie Brown's said she knew all about Aaron's dying wish, and the gesture brought her to tears.

Now, the family aims to add more cities to their menu.

"Any time any of us is out of town, we're gonna try and go ahead and give a big tip while we're there," Collins said. "We're hoping to find ways to broaden it further so we can get to Chicago, new York, Atlanta. Larger cities because we can't do all 112 here in Lexington."

The family marks each bill the servers get with their website, aaroncollins.org, in hopes others will learn about Aaron and be inspired to give. at last check, the original YouTube video had more than 2.4 million hits.

Aaron Collins died in the hospital on July 7th of this year. It was three weeks after his 30-th birthday. He died due to lack of oxygen.
