Family updates on injured teen

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - There's more updates today on a story WKYT has been tracking since a teenager was hit while riding her bike on a busy Lexington intersection.

A family member posted on the "Prayers for Shaina Witt" Facebook page today that doctors at UK Hospital were able to start the process of removing Shaina from relying on the ventilator.

They say all of her swelling is gone and she is able to move her arms and legs.

We're told she's listed in serious condition.

Family members tell us a fundraiser will be held for Shaina on September 3rd at noon at Masterson station.
