Fans waiting to camp out for Big Blue Madness tickets

Updated: Wed 12:33 AM, Sep 19, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It's that time of year again. Big Blue Madness is just three weeks away.

Fans aren't allowed to camp outside Memorial Coliseum until Wednesday morning, but that's not stopping many from trying to be the first ones at the door.

Dozens of people have lined up on Avenue of Champions, ready to head over to Memorial the minute they are finally allowed to.

For many Big Blue fans, it's a tradition to come out with family and friends to wait for Big Blue Madness tickets.

"It's just something that we look forward to every year and it wouldn't be the same without Big Blue Madness campout," said UK Fan Chelsea Bolton.

UK has signs posted to prevent fans from lining up on campus property until Wednesday.

UK police will have extra patrols around Memorial Coliseum while fans are camped out.

Tickets to Big Blue Madness are free, but there is a limit of four per person.
