Fans torn between teams at Rupp Arena

Updated: Thu 12:33 AM, Nov 03, 2011

They're the only Cats competitor that can say they walked all the way to Rupp Arena, and there are a lot more firsts for Transylvania University to claim in this once-every-century game.

"It's just kind of different going from a really small gym and then getting into Rupp and all these fans - I can only imagine how intimidated but excited they are as well," said Transy student Haley Bourne.

Whether you're wearing crimson or blue, cheering for the Cats or the Pioneers, everyone at Rupp is rooting for a Lexington team, one of two schools that no one living has ever seen on the same court.

"It's been 100 years since they've been able to play so it's neat to see a small school like Transy be able to come to a stage like this," said Transy alum Ryan Neff.

The Cats will play their next exhibition game Monday against Morehouse at Rupp Arena.
