A father is in jail charged with killing his six-month-old daughter.
Elizabethtown Police say 21-year-old Barry Williams Junior shook the little girl.
Police received a call from the Kosiar Children's Hospital Tuesday regarding the 6-month-old baby who, they say, had severe internal brain bleeding in her brain.
Doctors say the little girl's injuries were caused by shaken baby syndrome.
She was pronounced dead on Wednesday.
The baby was in the care of her father at the time, 21-year-old Barry Williams Junior.
Williams was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and police say he admitted to causing his daughter's injuries.
But Williams’ family members say he would never hurt his own child.
“I know my brother would never hurt his child, I see my niece every day. I don't know exactly what happened but I know they have got it twisted, my brother has always been gentle,” said the suspect’s sister.
Barry Williams Junior is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
Williams is expected to appear in Hardin County District Court on March 8th.
