Fayette School Board votes to negotiate purchase of more land for school

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Fayette County School Board agreed to negotiate the purchase of more land for the district's newest high school on Monday night.

The extra 15 acres became available for $1.7 million. In December, the board approved the purchase of 49 acres on Winchester Road costing $5.6 million.

It will be Fayette County's first high school since 1990. It's expected to open in August 2017.
