NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Crews are trying to figure out what sparked an overnight fire at a central Kentucky golf course.

This fire started about 2:30 Monday morning at Planters Row Golf Links in Jessamine County, just north of Nicholasville.

Nicholasville and Jessamine County firefighters responded to the fire that destroyed a maintenance shed.

The building is a total loss, along with everything inside, including mowing equipment and golf carts.

Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas of the golf course.

Because the fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived, officials say they likely will not be able to tell what started this fire.

They do say they do not suspect arson and lightning could be a possibility.

The owner says despite the setback, the golf course will remain open.
